Free packaging review

A free review, real samples, then a price

No cost, no obligation and no pressure. We come and look at how you pack, tell you honestly what we would change, and make samples you can test with your own product before you commit to anything.

Lower landed cost

Fewer materials, fewer sizes, fewer suppliers, better volume pricing.

Faster packing

Simpler packs mean less handling time on the bench.

Less waste

Right-sized, recyclable packs with FSC-certified board where you need it.

Price a box

Build your spec and we’ll quote it

Tell us the internal size, style, board and quantity. Your specification goes straight to our sales team, who come back with a real price from a real person.

Box quote calculator

Enter the internal size you need and how many, and we will price it. Sizes are internal dimensions in millimetres. Every request is quoted by a real person, so you get the right board grade and a proper price rather than a guess.

1. Your box

Box style (FEFCO)

Select a style to see it larger. Not sure? Pick the last tile and we will advise.

Selected: Regular slotted case (RSC) (FEFCO 0201)

Board area is an indication only, calculated for your chosen style (FEFCO 0201). Send the request and our sales team will confirm the spec and price, normally within one working day.

2. Do you use any other packaging items?

We stock the lot, so most customers consolidate and buy everything from us. Tick anything you buy elsewhere and we will price that too.

3. Where we send the quote

Your request goes straight to our sales team and opens in your email app, so you keep a copy. Prefer to talk? Call 01462 680888.

Not sure of the spec yet? Try Packassist and we will suggest a board grade, box style and protection in five questions.

What is right for your needs

How much weight can each board carry?

These are the figures we work to day to day. They're a guide rather than a guarantee, as weight, density and how far the box travels all play a part. If you're unsure, put your best guess in the form and we'll correct it for you.

Single wall (B or C flute)

Up to around 15kg

Best for UK courier and short-distance shipping

Everyday shipping boxes, mailers and retail packs. Fine for one or two handling stages and light stacking on a pallet.

Single wall, heavy duty (BC liner spec)

Around 15kg to 25kg

UK pallet networks and repeat handling

A step up in liner strength while keeping the slim board profile, so you don't lose storage space or bump up your box height.

Double wall (BC flute, approx. 7mm)

Around 25kg to 40kg

Long-distance, multi-drop and export

Our go-to for heavy, dense or fragile goods, and anything stacked high on a pallet or handled several times in transit.

Triple wall (approx. 10mm+)

40kg and above

Sea freight, machinery and near-crate protection

For engineering parts, machinery and one-off heavy items where a timber crate would normally be the alternative.

Dense and small?
Go up a grade. A 20kg box of fixings needs more board than a 20kg box of textiles.
Stacked on a pallet?
Double wall holds its shape under load, so the bottom layer doesn't crush.
Long journey or several handlings?
Every extra transfer is another chance of a knock. Double wall pays for itself in fewer damages.
Fragile or high value?
Pair the board with the right void fill or foam rather than just adding thickness.
Not sure?
Send us the product weight and where it's going, and we'll spec the board for you before you commit.

Typical product weight by flute and liner grade

Paper weights, flute type and the number of walls can all be varied, so similar performance can be reached with different board grades. These are the guideline figures the industry works to (K/T means kraft liner over test liner).

FluteGradeWeight
B or E125 K/T4kg to 6kg
B or E150 K/T8kg to 12kg
B or E200 K/T12kg to 17kg
B or E200 K / 300 T17kg to 25kg
B or E300 K/T25kg to 35kg
BC or EB125 K/T10kg to 15kg
BC or EB150 K/T15kg to 25kg
BC or EB200 K/T25kg to 35kg
BC or EB200 K / 300 T35kg to 40kg
BC or EB300 K/T40kg to 45kg

Weight ranges are indicative only. Final board specification depends upon box dimensions, product weight, distribution conditions, stacking requirements and environmental conditions.

How the review works

Five steps, and you can stop at any one of them

  1. 1. A short conversation

Tell us what you send out, roughly how much of it, and what is going wrong, damages, storage, cost, labour or waste. Five minutes on the phone is usually enough for us to know what to look at.

  2. 2. A free rep visit

One of our team comes to you. We look at your packing bench, the products, how they are stored and how they leave the building. We take dimensions and photos so nothing gets guessed at.

  3. 3. A written review

You get a plain-English summary: where you are over-packing, where a made-to-fit box would beat a stock size, which materials could be swapped for recyclable alternatives, and where consolidating suppliers saves money.

  4. 4. Samples to test

We produce samples of the recommended pack in-house and get them to you. Pack your real product, ship it, drop it, stack it. Feedback goes straight back into the spec until it is right.

  5. 5. A quote, then supply

Once the sample is signed off we quote it properly, one box or a full lorry load. We can hold stock and call it off to your schedule so you are not tying up your own space.

What we look at

Six things we always check

Box and mailer sizes
Right-sizing to cut void fill, dead air and courier charges.
Damages in transit
Board grade, construction and protective materials reviewed against how the pack is actually handled.
Pack times
How long each item takes to pack, and what would make that quicker on the bench.
Material choices
Paper-based and recyclable swaps that keep protection, ready for PPWR and EUDR.
Supplier count
What you buy elsewhere that we already stock, tapes, films, void fill, strapping, labels.
Stock and space
Volume pricing with call-off, so you buy well without filling your warehouse.

Straight answers

The bits people ask first

Is it really free?

Yes. The visit, the review and the samples are free, with no cost and no obligation.

How long does it take?

The visit is usually under an hour. Samples of a made-to-fit box are typically ready within a few working days as we manufacture on site in Letchworth.

Do we have to change everything?

No. Most reviews end with two or three practical changes, not a rebuild. Take the ones that make sense to you.

Are we too small for this?

No. We serve start-ups sending fifty boxes a month and manufacturers taking full lorry loads, and we are family run and independently owned so you deal with people who decide things.
