The problem

What usually goes wrong

An export pack is handled far more times than a domestic one. Every extra transfer is another chance of a knock, and the damage usually shows up thousands of miles from anyone who can fix it.

Sea freight adds humidity and long dwell times, both of which soften board that would be perfectly adequate on a UK pallet network.

Getting it wrong is expensive twice over: the product, and the freight you already paid to send it.

  • Triple wall (approx. 10mm+) for 40kg and above and sea freight

  • Timber for crates and bespoke pallets where board alone will not do
  • Strapping and edge protection matched to the load and the journey

Real example

Board instead of a crate, without losing protection

A customer was crating every overseas shipment in timber by default, which was slow to build, heavy to freight and expensive per unit.

For the lighter half of their range we specified triple wall boxes with internal corrugated bracing on bespoke pallets, and kept timber crates only where the weight genuinely required them.

The lighter packs cut freight weight and build time, damages stayed where they were, and the crating budget now goes only where it earns its place.
